Data Collection Tool

This project is developed for a consultancy company to collect data during field trips. A unique APK file is generated for every project that created via the web interface. User privileges can be specified on project basis. Form managers can create forms, facility types, facilities, forms and can set facility type x related forms matrix. During field trips, Data collectors enters answers into the system. Different data collectors may provide different answers for the same question. Conflict resolvers can inspect them and select the correct answer.

Tech stack: Java, Hibernate, PostgreSQL, JSP, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, Bootstrap, JQuery, Vue, Android, Gradle.

Questions have these attributes; text, notes and answer type. An answer type can be one of the following options: boolean, text (with maximum length restriction), number (with min-max values and decimal digit restrictions) or scale (like 1 to 5).

Not all forms have to be visible for all of the facility types. This matrix provides this feature.

Data Collection Process

After opening the web site and logging in, APK links are listed to the data collector. They download and install the mobile application.

Facilities that are assigned to the logged in data collector are listed.

The data collector saves answers. Questions can be marked as not applicable or look later.

The status report can be monitored to list the questions which are marked as look later, not applicable or left blank.

Answers can be uploaded with the "Upload Answers" option. Changes on the questions and other data collector 's answers can be loaded with the "Update Environment" option.

After Data Collection

Different answers on the same questions are eliminated by the conflict resolver . The collected data can be analyzed on a facility basis. All of the data can be downloaded as a single Microsoft Excel file.
